another warm and ready
Here's the label I put on my sons quilt.
My son's quilt all warm and ready to be wrapped for
under the Christmas tree. I sure wish I could get better
photos of these quilts as the colors are so much nicer in
person Yellow, Green Blue and Red I used the same
green and backing fabric for the binding.
I was just playing around with the left over fabrics from my
daughters quilt and made these two small pillows they are about 14" square.
Back to the sewing room as I have a few more things
to finish before I can say I'm ready for Christmas, I'm close but
not quite there.

warm out of the dryer
Not a good photo, its raining out so this is what I could
do this morning. This is my daughters quilt for Christmas
it's all warm right out of the dryer ready to wrap.
This is the back.
This is the binding. I used the 2 fabric and sew
on by machine method I really like how it looks.
Again bad photos it sure looks nicer in person.
This is one of the squares on front (truer color) that shows
the quilting. My quilter used a metallic gold thread with
swirls all over its very pretty.
This is my little Marmalade giving her approval.
I'm now going to go wrap this so my daughter doesn't
see it before Christmas, I'm having a hard time not showing
her so being wrapped will keep me from showing her. LOL
Have a good day,

October is almost over
I'm really trying to keep up to date with some quilting
bees that I joined, but having a hard go of it. Here is Oct.
the 7th block and its up to date.
Here is the heart and soul Sept. block but I still need to finish
or should I say start Aug and Oct blocks.
The Dresden plate blocks are behind as well I need to get to
Sept and Oct.
Oh but I did get 4 quilts sent to the quilter about 3 weeks ago and
have 2 back and will pick up the other 2 on Friday. These are
all Christmas gifts so I'm trying to get a lot of binding done.
Here is the 1st quilt finished.
These are bad photos but the best I could get.
This is my grandsons quilt and it turned out so cute.
The quilter used 123 ABC with stars in the quilting in a
variegated orange, green and yellow. I also made a pillow
case and a soft story book that was made using a panel that
matched the main fabric. I used the striped fabric from the
front as the binding, it's all washed an ready to be wrapped.
So 1 quilt down and 3 more to go.
For my daughter in law I'm making place mats and table runner.
Here are the place mats, I just need to quilt the runner and bind
it and they will be ready to wrap.
I hope to get better photo when I get the runner done.
I'm doing the quilting myself on these.
Have a safe and Happy Halloween!

more sewing going on
Here's my Sept quilting bee block of the month. This is
the only one that I'm caught up on so far, but I'm working on the others.
This is a mug rug I made using scraps from my daughters quilt top.
The back is made with HST in a pretty blue also left over from the top.
I took left over scrapes from the quilt top for my daughter and I made this 21 x 21
square that I'm going to use in the quilt backing, now I need to figure out what
fabric to use for the rest of it.
oh no I just found a mistake on the red shoe block well I'm going to take care of that asap!
do you see it ??
the star points are going the wrong way!! LOL
good thing I haven't taken this to the quilter
Smile and have a good day!

A shoe in every color
I finished my daughters quilt top now to get it quilted
before Christmas.
She loves her some shoes :)
This just took a little over a week to cut and piece together not
bad for a new quilter. This is only my 2nd time quilt top using a
pattern. I had to make some changes as the boarders in the boarder
fabric weren't wide enough. I'm very happy with how it turned out.
I'm working on the backing now I'm using some left over squares to
piece into the back.
Thank you for taking the time to visit

more photos
Well I'm finally caught up with my Dresden plate
BOM here is Aug, there was supposed to be some
leaf shapes in lavender in the center on the green but
I didn't like it so left them off.
The next group of block are for another BOM that I
joined at another quilt shop and they are now all
caught up as well. This one they release on the 3rd
Sat of the month. There will be 8 blocks and we
create the 9th and put together in our own design.
I love the fabrics in this they are so cheerful.
Thank you for looking and happy stitching

Photo heavy, getting caught up
I'm almost caught up with me Dresden Plate BOM
this first one is and extra because I cut the blades out of the
wrong fabric but I didn't want to toss it so it may become
a pillow when the quilt is all done.
This is my January block I added a little bird in the
center, he doesn't really show up well but in person
he is cute.
Here is February done as the pattern shows.
Here is March this is the one that I did right notice the
pointed blades are green and not red like in the 1st block.
This is April and another little bird in the center.
Here is May with another wee bird.
Here is June, not one of favorites. Oops you can see another
block peeking under the white background. LOL
Here is July.
I'm working on August but having issues. September will be
out next Sat so I best be getting busy.
Thank you for taking the time to look at my blocks.
Happy Sewing and keep smiling.

bb gun's and windows
This is how I started my week.
When I opened the living room blinds Monday morning this is what I found. Lucky no one was hurt unless you count my household budget for the month LOL.
We had an glass company give an estimate for replacement and installment.
It's not really as bad as I had imagined and they will be here in a little bit to do the work.
Just not something that anyone plans on having to deal with.
Hope everyone is having a better week then me,
Smile and be happy

Paisley Univerity
After taking 9 months of classes and learning all kinds of tips and tricks
for quilting. This is my class project quilt top. It has all the required elements.
9 patch, piano keys, flange, flying geese. 4 patch, quarter square triangles, strata and half
square triangles and lots of color which is my own element. I love how it turned out now
I just need to figure out what I want to do for the back and quilt it so I can use it as my
lap blanket while watching TV this winter.
I've also had time to make this cute tote bag for my daughter to use as she carries her books to and from her intern class at the elementary school.
As you can see behind the tote I'm working on another project this one is almost ready to go to the quilter and have it finished in time for a Christmas gift to my wonderful husband.
Vacation
My sweet husband and I took a road trip and went to Reno NV.
We are not gamblers but did drop a few dollars here and there.
We just needed a turn around point for our trip an this is were we picked.
On our way we stopped at Crater lake in Or which is something we had always wanted
to do but hadn't, very pretty but still very cold in June.
We stopped at some quilt shops and antique shops along the way to and from Reno.
We had lots of fun exploring the area and the best part was spending time together.

Long time,
It's been a while since I have posted and today I have to do it from my laptop. My other computer is in the shop. So no photos as my laptop and camera don't like each other. I really just wanted to let my followers know that I'm still here. I have been busy this summer with vacations and spending lots of time with my grandson while Mom is working and doing her course work in college. Once summer vacation is over for the school age kids I will be even busier with my grandson as his mom will start her internship at the elementary school. Only a couple more quarters to go and she will have her degree. Once my desk top is home I will post some photos from our vacation and of our new little fur baby Marmalade. I also have some quilting projects that are finished too.
Take care and be safe and happy!

My first ride
My grandson learning to ride his big boy bike, he just turned 3 in March and this is what we gave him. It's Lighting McQueen and he knows to put the helmet on first, his legs are just a bit short but he gave it his best.
Back to grandson play :)

Robin @ As Sweet As Peaches ~~~ Me

I've been busy since this hop was announced. When I saw announcement I was cross stitching this cute little chicken for a round robin I had joined. He was the cutest little thing and so perfect for a mug rug so I stitched 2 more in different colors for mug rugs. Then not knowing how I was going to finish them I sat them aside and started something else. I then went to my quilt class and we had a segment on English paper piecing hexagons and a little light came on for finishing my chickens. So with out further ado here are my first 2 mug rugs his and hers (the purple belongs to my DH)
The inspiration for my next two rugs came while watching the Disney channel with my 3yr old grandson. Were turned on the Mickey Mouse club house. Here's Mickey and Minnie...
My next ones where from my scrape bucket and remind me that Spring will arrive sooner or later, Buzzzzzz and fly away home.
The next two are also from my quilt class this last week we were learning about sewing curves. I made the one with cows for my DH and his nightly snack of ice cream and the other Spring one for my self. They are also a little larger as they finished at 10 inches.
My last mug rug took several days to make and I wasn't sure how I was going to make it I just know I had to give it a try, I finished it this morning. My inspiration came when we went to the Seattle aquarium a couple weeks ago with my grandson and daughter.
I call this one a Northwest sea turtle (note the trees on his back)
Thank you for stopping by,

Easter weekend
Happy family weekend in Seattle.
This was taken at the Space needle while we waited in line for our turn to go up to the top. When we finally made it to the elevator we were last to get in and I forgot that last ones in gets the best view as when the doors close you are looking out the glass doors at the view, good thing its only a 42 sec ride up. I also forgot how much I don't like being at the top until we were up there. I stayed in the enclosed part while the other 3 looked around outside. It was just as nice from inside as I'm sure it was outside but I got to stay warm :)
We had a great time and did lots of tourist type things. We visited Pike Place market and had some very good food, went to the Aquarium were our grandson was able to touch some sea creatures. We did the Ride the Duck ride that takes you on a tour of Seattle and out on to Lake Washington and it was such a beautiful site to see the sail boats and sea planes taking off from the lake. We made it to the zoo before heading home and a lot of other cool things. We had a fun packed 3 day weekend.

busy but ...
I've been busy but haven't finished anything yet.
The first photo is of my last round on my Round Robin and it's ready to go home.
Now all I have to do on the RR is wait for mine to come home I will show photos when it arrives.
This is Jan block for my year of Dresden plates from my local quilt shop.
Here is Feb's block, I just picked up March's block and need to get busy on it.
I started this cute block for my grandson I'm going to finish it into a pillow for him for his TV watching at our house. He loves cats, he even helped me work on this one. He gave me the fabric strips in the order he wanted them sewn and he is only just shy of 3. He wanted a lesson on how the sewing machine works so I gave him one, he would of sewn all day if I would have let him.
This is a twister block that I wanted to make look like a shamrock but I didn't plan it right but I like it any way and will still use it to make a place mat.
I then had to make another twister block to make sure I could do it right.
Over the weekend we had some nice weather so I worked out in the yard getting it cut and some weeds pulled so of course not much sewing went on. My DH and I also made a trip to Costco and Target to do some birthday shopping for our grandson. He will be 3 this Sat and is having his first b-day party with friends from day care.
have a great day and
SMILE!!!
