Frog

Today while out in the back yard I saw 3 tree frogs. By the time I went in the house and came back out with my camera all I could find was 1. But I gots lots of photos of him, he is so cute!

Mailed out

Today I finished and mailed out my Winter mail art. I had lots of fun doing this one. I tried something new this time, I made it like a bag with a zipper and tassel pull. I sure hope the lady likes it. I will post what the back and inside look like as I forgot to take a photo without her name on it so will not post until after it arrives, don't want to give the whole surprise away.

Mail Art

I just love doing mail art exchanges this is the 2nd one for this year. This is what arrived in my mail box yesterday and I just love it. Snowman and snow flakes!!! Thanks Chris. Isn't it the cutest? Love the button (it says let it snow)

Salem Sisters Finish

Well not truly finished but the stitching is done. "Salem Sisters" by Plum Street Samplers stitched on 18ct aida-ruby wine. This stitched up pretty fast and I really like it, not sure how to finish it yet but will think of something soon I hope.

Stitching

Name tag/ornament, I made this for the last WA/OR GTG in July its a Pam Kellogg design and one of the smallest things I have stitched in a long while. I love how it turned out the fabric you see in the background is what I used on the back to finish it.

New sewing machine

For my birthday last month my sweetheart bought me the coolest thing, a new sewing machine. I sure do love using it, I'm still learning what all the different buttons are for and its fun. It's a Husqvarna Viking Platinum 750. I've even decided to try making a quilt with it. But for now I'm making thread/ort bags.

harvest moon

This is a photo of the beautiful full harvest moon we saw last night on the way home from the beach. We were south bound on hwy 30 coming down the hill and this is what we could see. I wish I could of gotten better photo but when you are going 55miles hr its hard to get in focus.

We had a great time at the beach, shopping, eating and walking in the sand. The weather was great it warm with little wind, the water was however super cold so we didn't get our feet to wet, but had lots of fun.

It's hard to believe that my sweetheart turned 50 yesterday and that I have known him since he was 16.

Finished 9-11-08

I just finished this last night. I love how it turned out. AY 1801 Sampler by Historic Stitches. I changed all the colors to what I had on hand and like. :) I used DMC 4045, 4130 & 783 stitched on Zweigart Linen aida 18ct.

DH is turning 50!

On Monday the 15th my sweetheart will be 50! We are going to have a 3day weekend to celebrate and have some fun. Not sure what we are doing yet other than going to the beach and to his favorite cafe on Monday but I'm sure we will think of something. Since he doesn't like cake I'll be baking his favorite cookies this afternoon or maybe this evening after it cools off some. Snikerdoodles, snikerdoodles, snikerdoodles. That was the answer I got when I asked to please list your top 3 favorite cookie, so snikerdoodles it will be. :)

long time

It's been a long time since I have posted. I have been very busy this summer. I wish I could say it was stitching. LOL DH and I have been working on the house - to be more exact we have been painting it. Who would of thought that painting could be so much work. First we had to pressure wash it, then scrape all the loose paint off. Repairs then had to be made, loose shingles and the like. Then taking down the old gutters. Now we get to paint but wait what color? We finally decided on med green with very light green trim. I choose a very pretty dark green for the door. After the front of the house was done I decided to paint the concrete steps in the same green as the door. I love it!! We have also put up new house numbers and light fixtures at all 3 doors. The front of the house also got a new front screen/storm door. We have almost finished the painting on the house just the south wall to go. I started on the garage the other day I did the wall that is on the side of the deck so its now very clean and fresh looking. This spring we also put in a new fence in the front to match the one we put in the back a couple of years ago. Who ever said a house is a money pit sure knew what they were talking about.
