front meet back

This is a quilt top made from a kit that my sweet husband gave me last year
for Mother's Day.  I love everything about this top but I was having a hard time
finding the right fabric for the backing. I didn't want the same fabric from the front,
I wanted something that felt beachy. I was looking for a tan batik but couldn't find
the right one; when last weekend my daughter and I were at the quilt shop here in
Phoenix and she saw this fabric and its perfect, It is sea shells with beach glass and the
colors are great, the back ground color is a little more on the white side than in the photo.
This will be my first project to send off to the quilter when I get home.
I will be binding it with the dark blue I used for the sashing.

Have fun in your sewing room and
keep smiling.

I'm just about ready for the
elephant parade qal
Here are my colors but I still need to find just
the right color of off white back ground fabric. The
one I found at the quilt shop the other day was perfect
but there was only 3/4 of a yard and I need 2 yds.
So I will continue to search for one I like, I.m thinking of
a tone on tone off white.
If you would like to join in on the fun the first part will be released
on Feb 1st. Just click on the button on my side bar for more info.

Have a good day everyone,
keep smiling and make everyone wonder
what you are up to now!  LOL

Hello Everyone.
I know it has been a long time since I have posted.
I haven't really done anything to post about.
I went home for two weeks at Christmas and had a nice time
with my husband. I'm now back in Arizona with my daughter
and grandson. It's been months since I have felt like stitching or sewing.
I have however started a new quilt for a friend that's going through a
tough time and I feel she needs a quilt hug as reminder that she is loved.

Just need to add the side boarders and send it to the long arm quilter.

I think part of why I have no desire to stitch or quilt is that I don't have
my own stuff here. I have a sewing machine but I have to set it up in the dinning room.
I don't have my fabric stash so anytime I want to do something I have to go
purchase what I want/need and that's no fun. Sometimes you just want to pull some
scraps from your scrap basket and make something.
I've wanted to join a couple of blog hops and BOM but I just don't think
I will be able to get them done with my traveling from Washington to Arizona.
I'm going home for good at the end of March so I hope to have a more
productive 2nd quarter of the year.

Keep smiling and thank you for stopping by.
