Bone Cheeks

It's been a while since I have posted anything, not really to much going on here. I do however have a finish stitched piece to show, this is Bone Cheeks by Prairie Moon. It's stitched with the called for DMC colors but I didn't like it on white so I used this nice mocha color fabric I had in my fabric drawer. For whatever reason I can not get a photo to show the true colors, I would take it outside but its raining(again/still).  I love how it looks like the skull is on the ground, DH thinks I should finish it as a pillow I now just need to find the right colors of fabric so will need to go to the quilt shop on Monday.

Have a good weekend

long weekend

This is the start to my long weekend with my grandson. Nothing much will get done as we seem to do lots of silly stuff when he is here. My husband and I will focus on having fun with the little one.  So today I'm posting some new photos of what I love about spring. These are all taken from my flower gardens.

Enjoy your time with loved ones.

still here

Sorry I just haven't felt like blogging lately. Nothing really to write about. It was nice here for a bit so have spent lots of time out side working in the flower beds and yard to get it all nice for the summer.

I did go to a quilt class and learn how to make a snap bag, was lots of fun.

Last weekend I went to our area GTG in Portland Or. I only stayed a few hours but it was fun to catch up with everyone, as I haven't been to a GTG in almost a year.  When my husband picked me up we went out to eat at Red Robbins and ran into our daughter and grandson with some of her friends that had just spent the day at the zoo so we all had dinner together it was lots of fun. It's funny how we all live in the same town but yet ran into each other when we are in a town over 60 miles from home.

When not taking care of my grandson I have gotten a bit of stitching in, I'm working on Bone Cheeks and am about half done. Don't have a photo right now will post one later.

I made a mistake the other day and thought I would organise and get all my WIP, UFO and kitted projects all together and start working on them and I spent a whole day in the craft/sewing room and I think now I have a bigger mess and I can see what I need to work on.

Well I best go see what my sweetheart is getting into as I don't hear any noise in the living room.

Take care and happy crafting.

scissor keep

Last night I finished stitching on the mini sal that I had joined but wasn't sure what to finish it as. Well this morning I woke up with the idea of a scissor keep and went right into the craft/sewing room and made it. I'm really pleased with how it worked out as I had no idea what I was doing this was my first attempt, turned out pretty well if I don't say so myself. LOL

This is part 1 of the mini SAL I just finished it a couple of minutes ago.  I was slow in stitching this as my computer wouldn't let me print it out so had to sit in front of the computer and stitch, this was  a new experience.

JAB Lovebird

HOT off the q-snaps, I loved stitching this and it only took me 2 days! This is JAB Co Lovebird stitched on a pale yellow 28ct fabric from my stash with DMC with the called for buttons. I think I'm going to use the fabric in the back ground to make it into a small pillow/ pin cushion. Not sure yet if this is my final fabric choice it will have to lay on the pressing board for a while and I will keep checking on it and it will tell me when its ready. LOL

If cats could talk...

Just finished stitching this very cute chart. "If cats could talk..." designs by Lisa. The fabric in the background is yardage that goes with a charm pack I have that I will be using to make either a sewing machine cover or tote bag not sure yet which.

pillow quilt finish

Just finished up the binding on my new pillow. Since I stitched this to look like a quilt block I also finished it like a quilt with binding around the edge.  I love how it has turned out, now on to my next finish.
Have a great day everyone and thank you for stopping by.

crazy quilt pillow top

The pillow top is done now I just have to put the zipper in the back and sew them together. This has been fun and while stitching on other projects I'm thinking how to finish them in a quilt project so that I can work on both of my hobbies, counted cross stitch and quilting.

stitching finish

Not much blogging going on for me but I have been doing some stitching. I finished up this on Friday last, now trying to figure how I want to finish it. I did go to the quilt shop and bus some pretty green fabric that goes oh so good in case I decide on some kind of sewing project.

edited to add:  The chart is from Imaginating designed by Ursula Michael called "Let's Sew"
stitched on a white even weave with green variation DMC floss.

mug rug

I wasn't sure what I was going to make with the little stitched heart flowers, but I figured it out as I went. I did a crazy quilt square and made it into a little mug rug when all said and done it only measures 4 1/4" X 6 1/4". I just used scraps from my sewing basket. I really like how it turned out it makes me smile for some reason, I think I will have to make some more of these.

3rd RR

This is the 3rd RR that has come my way. I've finished stitching and have also stitched a 2nd part for myself. This RR is so fun because you never know what is going to be waiting for you in the envelope.

Quilt finish

I started on this quilt when my grandson was very small and I finished it today. I guess I work better under pressure he needs a nap quilt for pre-school and he starts on Monday. This is very colorful and makes me smile so I hope he likes it too.
I'm not a very seasoned quilter but I loved working on this for him. I hope it doesn't fall apart in the wash. LOL

my next project

This isn't a good color match but it's the best I'm getting tonight. This is my next project, I did the counted cross stitch part a few weeks ago, not knowing what I was going to do with it. Looking at it on the ironing board I decided to make a crazy patch pillow top. I went shopping at my local quilt shop and came home with 6 fat quarters that go with it as if it was stitched for them. Now to do the crazy patch part, I'm not a quilter so this is going to be a slow process as I don't want to screw up. LOL The dark blue in the back will be the boarder and the back of the pillow. I'm not sure why I stitched this in blue and yellow it doesn't really go in any room of the house right now. We are planning on painting the living room this summer to a soft green so I think it will work in my stitching chair. Lets hope the pillow gets done before the living room as it's not on the schedule until July or first of August.
